Firstly, I would like to thank you for your continued support and for being a valued customer of Ford Motor Company. In the spirit of keeping our valued customers up to date with as much information as possible, we would like to communicate an update to our lead times across both Commercial & Passenger vehicles, following the communication issued in April this year.

RWD Transit 2T:
Following on from the semi-conductor shortage impact, communicated in April, regrettably our production schedule has been hit by another unforeseen event. Floods in Germany last month destroyed a production line at Auto Heinen Eiffel facility. This supplier was the single source of RWD MT82 Manual Transmission assembly (impacting mainly RWD Transit 2T units). An alternative assembly and machining supplier has been identified and this facility is expected to be fully operational within 4-6 weeks. As a result of this issue, only minimal RWD production will be possible for late August and September Production, leading to knock on lead time implications for both new and existing orders. There may be some further impacts into Q4 as the accelerated ramp up of an alternate supplier is implemented.

Tourneo Connect:
To also provide an update on production implications due to the Semi-conductor shortage, it is not possible to build Tourneo Connect vehicles with Front Camera (standard for UK specification). Units that may have been planned in August/September will have been taken out of the schedule. Next anticipated production of these units is likely to be October. We are working to ensure that despite these delays, all current orders will be built before this model ceases production in February 2022.

Transit Connect:
Again, due to semiconductor supply issues, it is also not possible to build Transit Connects with SYNC in September. This affects vehicles that have ICE Pack 9 & ICE Pack 10, which is 35% of the order bank. Units that may have been planned in September will have been taken out of the schedule. Next anticipated production of these units is likely to be October.

We understand that this news is frustrating and could add delays to your orders. We are working with our Dealers to ensure that they get timely and accurate information about revised production and delivery dates to enable them to keep you informed, however the Semi-Conductor shortage remains a very fluid situation.

In the meantime, please accept my apologies for these unforeseen delays to your orders and confirm my commitment that we will do all in our power to build out our customer orders as soon as production recommences. We will write to you again once we have further clarity on the situation to provide you with the certainty you require to plan your business.
