Birchall is a family-owned tea company, based in London, with roots in the trade dating back over 140 years. The company specialises in single origin and blended black teas from East Africa and its teas are served daily on every major high street across the United Kingdom. Since 2011, Birchall has won over 30 gold star awards at The Guild of Fine Food’s Great Taste Awards and its signature Great Rift Breakfast Blend has received honours for 6 consecutive years.

We are dedicated to a long term commitment to creating absolutely perfect tasting tea but we also work hard to ensure that all our teas are sustainably sourced in a manner which respects both the environment and our tea producers and, for this reason, we are a long standing member of the Ethical Tea Partnership.

In 2006, we introduced Fairtrade Teas to our foodservice range and in 2009 we began offering Rainforest Alliance certified leaf teas. All our Birchall black teas carry the Green Frog Seal. This means they are certified by the Rainforest Alliance and grown in a way that helps protect the environment and farm workers and their families.
