Latest announcement regarding Coffee Hot/Cold Chiller Units

A message from CPI to NIVO Members:

In October 2021 we took an active step towards a more sustainable future by upgrading the refrigerant of our Cold Drink, Snack machines to a natural refrigerant solution (R290). We are pleased to announce the introduction of R290 across our Coffee Freestanding range of vending equipment too.

As you know, R290 is a low-toxic, naturally occurring substance with zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and very low Global Warming Potential (GWP of less than 3). However, it is a flammable gas and because safety has always been at the core of our business, CPI has made a significant investment to eliminate all safety concerns and ensure that our Coffee machines are fit for use with the new refrigeration system.

In addition, in compliance with the EU Regulation No 517/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 April 2014 on fluorinated greenhouse gases that went into force on January 1, 2022, we are prohibited from placing R134a refrigerated equipment on the European market.

That means that all R134a refrigeration systems are officially end of life, as from December 31st, 2021, subject to our standard end of life policy.

All Coffee R134a chiller units have been phased out of production and all new orders starting August 1st will come with R290 refrigerant chillers.

FW/SW Support: Support will continue to be provided until August 1st, 2026 or 5 years past the official EOL announcement as follows:
• Firmware bugs will be supported through the end of the EOL period
• New product enhancements, extensions, or new options and variants – not supported
Spare Parts: Spare parts will be provided per Warranty terms and will continue to be available until December 1, 2026 or until they are no longer available from suppliers (whichever comes first) and in compliance with local regulations.

R134A: Cold Still 2 Syrups
R134A: Cold Carbonated 2 Syrups

Substitute Accessory:
R290: Cold Still
R290: Cold Still 2 Syrups
EOL – No replacement for carbonated
